Pointed to a heavenly view,
a light in the distance to tease me
The journey I take may cost what I make
Though others have paid with a small fee
Why
The work that’s ahead as I lie in bed
awaits the moment of action.
An offer at stake a step it will take
Though others have risen before the sun
Why
The road that’s ahead its often been said
Is paved with the best of intentions
The future I see is all misery
While others have made no objections
Why
The pain that’s ahead could be in my head
But that’s no small consolation
The tension is great should I turn up late
for my own predestination.
Why
The answer for me is not easy to see
Though this my hour of question
I hope you would pray that I’ll walk away
with a new sense of redemption. |
